  • Welcome

We are a UK based urban community located in the historic town of Bedford. We hope that this group and the projects will be an inspiration and example to everyone that local action can make real achievements in tackling climate change.

    How to add blog posts

May 15th, 2009 in General, Website by shane hughes

    new-post1

Start by clicking "new news post"

Here is a guide on how YOU can add blog posts to the homepage of the ZCC website. The site is open for all to contribute and is very simple to do so.

Please note, if you’d like to add blog posts, when you first register please email us, asking to upgraded your membership. This so as we don’t get automated spam postings. The more content added by a more diverse group of people, the more vibrant our site will become. This guide is one in a series designed to help you get the best from the site, see here, for more.

    How To: Login and Comment

January 27th, 2009 in Website by Chris Johnson

In the first of the series on how to use the new website, we’re going to look at how to login to the new site and leave comments on existing articles.

    1. First of all, enter your username and password in the boxes at the top right of the page. (If you don’t already have a username and password, we’re going to cover how to get them in a future article, but feel free to click the ‘Signup’ button and go it alone if you like!) Next, click the ‘Log In’ button.

Logged In2. Assuming you correctly entered your username and password, the next thing you’ll see in the top right is your name with a little picture next to it (called an avatar), and a link which you can click to log back out when you’ve finished. If you see these things, congratulations, you’ve logged in.

Comments3. Now, to add a comment to an article, click on the comments link at the bottom of the news item. It will say something like ‘No comments’, or ‘10 comments’.

    Comment Box

    4. And last but not least, it’s time to write your comment! Fill in the box with your thoughts and replies to previous comments, then simply click Submit Comment. If you’d like to know whenever anyone else comments on this post, simply tick the ‘Notify me of follow up comments by email’ box and you’ll get a brief email each time there is a response. Simple!

    Welcome to the new site!

January 26th, 2009 in Website by Chris Johnson

HedgehogIf you’re arriving here for the first time, having recently received an email giving you login details, then welcome! Over the next few days there will be a series of posts here explaining how to add news yourself, and participate in our online community features.

This site has some similar features to Base Camp, but rather than needing to login to see what’s happening and discussions going on, anyone can pop by and see the conversations. You’ll still need to login to take part, but that’s quick and easy using the boxes in the top right.

If you’re already tech savvy and feeling confident – go ahead and post some news, videos and reviews – it’s over to you!
